The Hijacking of the Kentucky Marijuana Party

The Hijacking of the Kentucky Marijuana Party

… via ShereeKrider on Facebook!

On Saturday April 5th, 2014, I was notified by Brenda Eaton, a friend on Facebook that someone was using my name to duplicate my main profile account.

From Brenda:

“Someone is trying to steal your profile… I got a friend request from you on a account just open… Do you want me to take a screen shot and send it to you?”

By that time they had added approximately 75 of my “friends”.

“They will have you blocked to where you can’t see them doing it… Be right back with the screen shot.”

The following are screenshots of the rouge account which was located at http://facebook.com/sheree.krider.54 They had effectively duplicated my profile and was adding my friends as fast as they could do it. Before it was over they had over 1500 of my friends they had attached themselves to.

clip_image002clip_image004

As Brenda had said, they had me blocked from seeing the profile from my own account. The result of me “clicking on the link” was “sorry that page isn’t available”…

clip_image006

Brenda advised me, “Most people won’t say anything… But I know who all my friends are. I plan on protecting my friends… Be careful with that asshole pretending to be you. They will send your friends horrible messages, just so they will delete you… Someone don’t like what you fight for, or post… Be careful”

At that point I started posting on my profile about what was happening.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SOMEONE HAS HACKED MY ACCOUNT AND HAS SOMEHOW MADE A PAGE W/MY PROFILE AND ARE ADDING MY FRIENDS AS WE SPEAK. I HAVE SET MY FRIENDS AND CONTACTS TO PRIVATE FOR NOW UNTIL THIS IS SETTLED. PLEASE SHARE THIS INFO SO NO ONE ELSE GETS TAKEN OFF GUARD! I WAS JUST NOTIFIED BY BRENDA EATON THAT THEY HAVE 75 OF MY FRIENDS…..PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY THESE PEOPLE!!! I’m tired of people stealing my f/g name! Sheree Krider

PLEASE CHECK FOR YOUR NAME ON THE LIST AND REMOVE IT!

PLEASE SHARE THIS EVERYONE! IT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY ME AND A COUPLE OTHER PEOPLE…..DONT GET BIT!

After numerous reports which friends made on the bogus profile were sent in I again posted on Sunday,

WILL SOMEBODY OUT THERE CHECK THIS LINK AND SEE IF IT IS STILL ACTIVE? DO NOT FRIEND THIS PERSON IT IS NOT ME IT IS A HACKER. FROM MY END IT SHOWS PAGE NOT FOUND. https://www.facebook.com/sheree.krider.54

And the response was,

Diverse Sanctuary WOW I JUST ADDED THAT PAGE
Diverse Sanctuary IS THIS YOU? https://www.facebook.com/sheree.krider.54
Sheree Krider NO IT WAS NOT – LOOKS LIKE THEY DELETED THE LINK.
Diverse Sanctuary IT IS STILL THERE https://www.facebook.com/sheree.krider.54
Sheree Krider FUNNY WHEN I TRY GOING TO THE LINK IT TELLS ME IT NO LONGER EXISTS
Diverse Sanctuary IT HAS BEEN REPORTED AS A FRAUD
Sheree Krider I HAVE ALSO REPORTED THIS!
Sheree Krider THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE WHEN I TRY TO GO TO THE SAME LINK:

clip_image008
Doug McVay Ah. So, that’s the friend request I got from https://www.facebook.com/sheree.krider.54. Page was created 9 hours ago, according to the bits at the bottom. It’s still up.
Sheree Krider IT WONT LET ME SEE IT!
Doug McVay Presumably you’re blocked from seeing it. I always wondered what that would look like.
Angie Martin I just removed that profile from my friends list Aunt Sheree. Hope you’re doing well. Love ya

Don Land your fake page is still there, I let Electropig know…he was the only mutual friend there….you might to change profile pic so others know the difference..

On April 6th I again reported on my profile about the situation as it had not been resolved as of yet.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT SOMEONE STILL HAS A ROGUE ACCOUNT SET UP WITH MY NAME ON IT AND SO FAR HAS MANAGED TO TAG OVER 1000 PEOPLE OR MORE. PLEASE DEFRIEND THIS PERSON IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE FOUND OUT FROM A SOURCE THAT THE FOLLOWING OWNER IS APPARENTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND I DONT KNOW FOR SURE HOW IT IS INTENDED: https://www.markmonitor.com/ Sheree Krider

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT SOMEONE IS IMPERSONATING ME AND “ADDING” PEOPLE OFF MY FRIENDS LIST. DO NOT “BEFRIEND” ANYONE WITH MY NAME ON IT RIGHT NOW – I GOTTA GET THIS MESS STRAIGHTENED OUT. SEE MY STATUS FOR MORE INFO ON MY PROFILE.

I am sure glad people pay attention to those things…. I lost my website at shereekriderdotorg because someone tagged it for renewal and the same day it came up (before i had a chance to get in there and pay) they nabbed it up. Hence, shereekrider.com. But the guy at hosting said they had to have been watching the account for a while to do something like that. It was a marketing company that did it.

On April 8th, I again reported the following,

ATTENTION, ATTENTION, ATTENTION….ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEFRIENDED THIS “BOGUS” ACCOUNT NAMED shereekrider 54 NEED TO REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM THAT PROFILE – IT IS NOT ME AND IT HAS BEEN REPORTED: https://www.facebook.com/sheree.krider.54/friends
MaryJane KY SINCE THEY HAVE BLOCKED ME FROM SEEING THE PAGE I CANT ADD THIS INFORMATION TO THE REAL “SHEREEKRIDER”…
MaryJane KY IF SOMEONE CAN DO THAT FOR ME- PLEASE DO!
MaryJane KY THERE ARE NUMEROUS PEOPLE ON THERE WHICH CAME FROM MY FRIENDS LIST AND NEED TO REMOVE THEMSELVES. THE “HACK” CAME FROM HTTP://MARKMONTIOR.COM/ ACCORDING TO “WHOIS” DATABASE.

(Of note: MaryJane KY is also ME!)

This is just one reply to that post:

Brenda Eaton I can’t believe Facebook has not deleted that account… I made about 10 reports… This should make a major story where Facebook allows abuse…

There were numerous reports made on the “imposter” of my profile. Yet no action was being taken on “Facebook’s” end.

April 9th, this morning, I again checked my profile and asked friends to verify whether or not the bogus profile was still on line.

This is the conversation which took place:

SOMEONE PLEASE CHECK THIS LINK AND SEE IF THIS “BOGUS” PROFILE IS STILL THERE! I CAN’T SEE IT FROM MY END! https://www.facebook.com/sheree.krider.54

Top of Form

Brenda Eaton Yes it still there… One of the reason it is, they have a cell phone number where Facebook can notify them.

Perry B. Anthony Yep

Brenda Eaton She has activated Facebook Mobil… That keeps Facebook from finding the IP location.

  • clip_image009

Sheree Krider Brenda Eaton Can you see the phone number?

Brenda Eaton Whoever it is, they are out to cause you trouble… Sometimes, changing your profile picture often helps keep this from happening. There are laws where you can sue them if they are in the US…. Catching them will not be easy with a cell phone… Never seen where this one happen before, but I will check and see what I can do…

  • clip_image009[1]

Sheree Krider I’m contacting the http://markmonitor.com site today and confront them about it. I’lll see what happens.

Brenda Eaton NO, tried that when I seen it was activated…. Good luck with that… The Domain belongs to Facebook, and they have control over any outside help.

Brenda Eaton On the good side, she has lost about 30 of your friends… No new friends have been added.

Brenda Eaton Information that belongs to you is on the left side… That bitch is on the right side. It looks as if she has planned this for some time to destroy you… She has no

family members… It makes me mad that Facebook allows this kind of abuse to continue…

clip_image012

Brenda Eaton Twitter will not allow two people to have the same name… Good for Twitter, because she couldn’t get a Twitter account under your name.

Sheree Krider Brenda Eaton Diverse Sanctuary Wayward Bill Listen to this shit! I just called The MarkMonitor.com business who is listed as owner on “whois” for the link in San Franciso CA, Ph# 415 278 8400 and spoke with MR DAVID LAURICELLA who informed me that he was not responsible.

Brian McCullough You know what I point out ever time I see it.. The Double Cross.. It’s the fingerprint of the FBI .., the Feds….

Brenda Eaton It may help by reporting what is going on as bullying… Facebook takes this seriously. You are being bullied from identity theft… Try reporting it as a bullying problem. Let Facebook know they have you blocked, and they are contacting your friends pretending to be you calling them bad names. Facebook is responsible for someone that ends their life from allowing bullying… Not saying that is what you would do, it is a way to get something done.

Brenda Eaton Not sure if this will take you to the link or not… https://www.facebook.com/help/community/question/…

Brenda Eaton From experience, it is someone on your friend list. They are reading all of the messages. That is why no new friends have been added. Most likely they used someone else phone to activate the account to protect themselves… Hide your friend list, followers, and pictures from everyone until that account is destroyed.

Brian McCullough Thanks I got rid of em.

  • clip_image009[9]

Sheree Krider As I was trying to say before I was rudely interrupted by a “update” by my laptop: I WANT EVERYONE TO REMOVE THEMSELVES FROM MY FRIENDS LISTS UNTIL I GET THIS STRAIGHTENED OUT. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY. IM GOING THRU AND DELETEING ANYONE WHO I DONT KNOW OF ON THIS ACCOUNT WHICH WILL CERTAINLY INTERRUPT MY “VENUE” HERE – WHICH IS WHAT THEY WANT – WHICH IS WHY I HATE TO DO IT. BUT…………..

  • clip_image009[10]

Sheree Krider @Brenda so does this mean i need a police report too?????

What do I do if someone is pretending to be me on Facebook?
If someone created a Facebook account pretending to be you, please report the Timeline from a computer.
If you’d like information about an account that’s impersonating you, please file a request that includes the following:
Scanned or digital image of a government-issued ID (driver’s license or passport, for example)
Notarized statement verifying your identity
Copy of a police report about your claim

Dede O’Hara Cant fb at least tell you where the fake person is doing all this from and go get the loser

  • clip_image009[11]

Sheree Krider HELL, THERE ISNT ANY WAY TO GO THRU ALL THESE PEOPLE AND JUST DELETE THEM….I CANT TELL IF THEY ARE A “TROLL” OR NOT UNLESS THEY DON’T HAVE ANY FRIENDS????????

  • clip_image009[12]

Sheree Krider Paula Willett I think your safe here. I don’t know what to do about this.

  • clip_image009[13]

Sheree Krider There have been numerous reports made on the page – I don’t know what the problem is.

Brenda Eaton Sheree, there is a way in finding out their location… I’ll be back, it might take a few min’s.

At this point I was just dumbfounded as to what to do about it especially since I could get no help from Mr. David Lauricella at http://markmonitor.com as he had advised I probably should get a lawyer! (After I told him I was getting a lawyer)!

I called Mary Spears of Diverse Sanctuary who everyone knows is a very good friend and Sister to me. I asked her to call this man and see if she could make any sense out of what he was telling me as she is more knowledgeable than I am concerning legal matters.

At that point, she did call him and I do not know the specifics of the conversation but it must have kicked someone in the ASS because less than twenty minutes after she got off the phone with them the BOGUS PROFILE WAS FINALLY DELETED!

Here is the outcome:

Brenda Eatonposted toSheree Krider

I am happy to tell you… The site has been destroyed…

Top of Form

Brenda Eaton It was before I could get the IP address… It’s a simple step if you know what you are doing… It is most likely someone on your friend list, and if I could get the exact GPA location, you may know who it was… Sorry, the site is gone, or they have blocked me. Let someone else check and see. If it is still there, I will go in with my sister’s account and get the location for you.

  • clip_image009[14]

Sheree Krider I just logged on thru all my other accounts and it seems it is gone. I would like to see some other people check it out too so I can make sure!

  • clip_image009[15]

Sheree Krider Ironically enough, I had called the “MarkMonitor.com” company and spoke with a David Lauricella who told me that even though “whois” said it was their link – it wasn’t. They were the hosting company”….Mary Diverse Sanctuary called them again for me and wa la somebody got off their ass!

  • clip_image009[16]

Sheree Krider It has been verified by several people that it is GONE GONE GONE!

Brenda Eaton Just make sure you notify me if someone looks like me and has my profile picture and sends you a friend request… I will take care of them my way

  • clip_image009[17]

Sheree Krider Brenda Eaton HELL YEAH!

Ironically enough, a few weeks ago I had set up a new account on Facebook using MaryJane KY as my Profile name. FACEBOOK CUT ME OFF AFTER I HAD ADDED ONLY 200 PEOPLE! Blocked me from adding friends or messaging for 30 DAYS! Although I will admit that I went through Facebook and found all the Kentucky Politicians and requested adds! I guess somebody out there did not like that!

However, this person managed to get 1500 of my friends before being shut down as an imposter!

After multiple reports to Facebook and two phone calls to “MarkMonitor.com” the situation has been resolved. (I hope).

As of today, my profiles are intact. No harm done except to ruin my weekend and exploit many people who thought they were adding another profile of mine!

The problem is when you add that many people on a Facebook account and you do not know them all personally, it is very hard to determine who the “spy” is.

Evidently someone wants me offline. However, I cannot figure out why.

And I cannot go through 5000 people that are “friends” and delete everyone I do not know personally or my “venue” would be shot to hell. So therefore, all I can do is pray that this doesn’t happen again – at least anytime soon!

*The moral of this story is: BEWARE OF WHO YOU ADD ON FACEBOOK AS “FRIENDS”!

Is Privacy Dead? 4 Government and Private Entities Conspiring to Track Everything You Do Online and Off

The police-corporate surveillance “complex” is being consolidated, drawing ever-closer corporate tracking and government surveillance.
September 10, 2012  |

Americans’ personal privacy is being crushed by the rise of a four-headed corporate-state surveillance system.  The four “heads” are: federal government agencies; state and local law enforcement entities; telecoms, web sites & Internet “apps” companies; and private data aggregators (sometimes referred to as commercial data warehouses).

Conventional analysis treats these four domains of data gathering as separate and distinct; government agencies focus on security issues and corporate entities are concerned with commerce. Some overlap can be expected as, for example, in case of a terrorist attack or an online banking fraud.  In both cases, an actual crime occurred.

But what happens when the boundary separating or restricting corporate-state collaboration, e.g., an exceptional crime-fighting incident, erodes and becomes the taken-for-granted operating environment, the new normal?  Perhaps most troubling, what happens when the traditional safeguards offered by “watchdog” courts or regulatory organizations no longer seem to matter?  What does it say that the entities designed to protect personal privacy rights seem to have either been effectively “captured” or become toothless tigers?

In President Eisenhower’s legendary 1960 farewell address, he warned of the potential power of the military-industrial complex.  Ike’s 20th century formulation represented the intertwining of the U.S. military and private contractors to achieve two complementary goals.  First, it sought to help corporations make guaranteed, cost-plus profits and to provide glide-path retirement programs for the military brass.  Second, it sought to influence Congress and thus shape foreign policy, helping fulfill the then just-emerging global imperialist strategy.

Today’s corporate-state surveillance complex demonstrates a comparable intertwining of U.S. policing forces and private companies in the monitoring of domestic life.  It is being implemented thanks to the technology fruits of a half-century of the military-industrial complex.  The Defense Department created the Internet and what it can do in Yemen it can do in Oakland. The global war on terrorism is coming home!

In the wake of the Great Recession, we are living through a great economic and social restructuring.  The global world order is shifting and, accordingly, America’s class and social relations are being reordered.  Occupy Wall Street’s formulation of the social crisis, the 1% vs. the 99%, has become the shorthand descriptor of this restructuring of American economic relations.  No time is better to impose high-tech social disciple then one marked by economic and social crisis.  The unanswered question is obvious:  Are we witnessing the formation of the high-tech police state?

* * *

To reiterate, the four-headed corporate-state surveillance hydra consists of (i) federal agencies; (ii) state and local law enforcement entities; (iii) telecoms, web sites & Internet “apps” companies; and (iv) private data aggregators.  The following overview sketches out the parameters of the ever-growing domestic spy state, how it’s being implemented and some of the more egregious examples of abuse of public trust if not the law.

#1 — Federal Surveillance

The attacks of 9/11 and the subsequent (and endless) “war on terror” continue to provide the rationale for an ever-expanding domestic security state.  The leading agencies gathering data on Americans (and others) include the National Security Agency (NSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Defense (DoD) as well as the FBI and IRS.  In the wake of 9/11, the NSA took the lead in federal domestic cyber surveillance, but in 2010 the NSA ceded this authority to the DHS.

Personal information is gathered from a host of both public and private sources.  One source is “public records” that can range from birth, marriage and death records; court filings, arrest records, driver’s license information, property ownership registrations (e.g., car or house), tax records, professional licenses and even Securities and Exchange Commission filings.  Another source is “private” records from ChoicePoint and LexisNexis as well as credit reporting agencies such as Equifax, Experian Information Solutions and Trans Union LLC.

When the cops subpoena your Facebook information, here’s what Facebook sends the cops

This week’s Boston Phoenix cover storyHunting the Craigslist Killer: An Untold Detective Story from the Digital Frontier — would not have been possible without access to a huge trove of case files released by the Boston Police Department. Many of those documents have never been made public — until now. As a kind of online appendix to the article, we’re publishing over a dozen documents from the file, ranging from transcripts of interviews to the subpoenas that investigators obtained from the tech companies that helped them track the killer’s digital fingerprints. We’ve also published the crime scene photos and uploaded recordings made by investigators as they interviewed the killer, Philip Markoff, and others involved in the case.

One of the most fascinating documents we came across was the BPD’s subpoena of Philip Markoff’s Facebook information. It’s interesting for a number of reasons — for one thing, Facebook has been pretty tight-lipped about the subpoena process, even refusing to acknowledge how many subpoenas they’ve served. Social-networking data is a contested part of a complicated legal ecosystem — in some cases, courts have found that such data is protected by the Stored Communications Act.

In fact, we’d never seen an executed Facebook subpoena before — but here we have one, including the forms that Boston Police filed to obtain the information, and the printed (on paper!) response that Facebook sent back, which includes text printouts of Markoff’s wall posts, photos he uploaded as well as photos he was tagged in, a comprehensive list of friends with their Facebook IDs (which we’ve redacted), and a long table of login and IP data.

This document was publicly released by Boston Police as part of the case file. In other case documents, the police have clearly redacted sensitive information. And while the police were evidently comfortable releasing Markoff’s unredacted Facebook subpoena, we weren’t. Markoff may be dead, but the very-much-alive friends in his friend list were not subpoenaed, and yet their full names and Facebook ID’s were part of the document. So we took the additional step of redacting as much identifying information as we could — knowing that any redaction we performed would be imperfect, but believing that there’s a strong argument for distributing this, not only for its value in illustrating the Markoff case, but as a rare window into the shadowy process by which Facebook deals with law enforcement.

As far as we can tell, nobody’s ever seen what one of these looks like — and we’re hoping the social media, law, and privacy experts out there can glean insight from it:

Facebook Co-Founders Want Pot Legalized

Duo Gives $170,000 To California Ballot Measure

MARCUS WOHLSEN, Associated Press Writer

READ MORE HERE

SAN FRANCISCO — California’s ballot measure to legalize marijuana has a new friend: Facebook co-founder Sean Parker has given $100,000 to back the proposal.

Parker’s donation was reported in Proposition 19 campaign finance filings this week.

And he’s not the first big Proposition 19 donor with ties to the social networking site. Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz has made two donations totalling $70,000, including a $50,000 contribution last month.

Neither Parker nor Moskovitz are still with Palo Alto-based Facebook, but both still have ownership stakes. Recent estimates put the value of the privately held company as high as $33.7 billion.

"What’s interesting here is that (Parker) is a member of the generation that really gets it," said Stephen Gutwillig, a spokesman for the Drug Policy Alliance, the main beneficiary of Parker’s contribution. "We think he’s pivotal to the future of drug policy reform in the country."

The 30-year-old served as Facebook’s first president and helped transform the company from dorm-room project to big business. Parker and Moskovitz have become household names since the recent release of "The Social Network." The film chronicling the contentious origins of Facebook was No. 1 at the box office last week.

Pop musician and actor Justin Timberlake plays Parker in the movie, which portrays him as a hotshot who convinces Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to push out his friend from the burgeoning company.

In a recent Vanity Fair profile, the media-shy entrepreneur is described as a computer-programming prodigy with an uncanny knack for anticipating online trends and a penchant for designer clothes and partying.

At age 19, Parker helped develop Napster, the music-sharing software that turned the recording industry upside-down. He is now a partner at Founders Fund, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm.

Parker did not immediately respond to e-mails seeking comment.

About $1.5 million of the $2.4 million raised so far in support of Proposition 19 has come from the measure’s main sponsor, Oakland medical marijuana entrepreneur Richard Lee. The only other six-figure donation not from Lee came from adult entertainment entrepreneur Phil Harvey, who gave $100,000.

Parker’s donation came shortly after the Yes on 19 campaign committee reported having meager cash on hand heading into the final weeks before the election. The money from Parker and Harvey went to a separate committee to fund the Drug Policy Alliance’s work on behalf of the measure.

Much of the money will go toward a get-out-the-vote campaign targeting young voters and voters of color, Gutwillig said.

Facebook recently came under fire from some marijuana advocates who claimed it was turning away advertising on the site in support of Proposition 19. Facebook said in a statement that company policy prohibits images of drugs, drug paraphernalia or tobacco in paid advertising but that ballot measure supporters were still free to advertise using different images.

U.S. Wants Broader Internet Wiretap Authority

Published September 27, 2010

The Obama administration is developing plans that would require all Internet-based communication services — such as encrypted BlackBerry e-mail, Facebook, and Skype — to be capable of complying with federal wiretap orders, according to a report published Monday.

National security officials and federal law enforcement argue their ability to eavesdrop on terror suspects is increasingly "going dark," The New York Times reported, as more communication takes place via Internet services, rather than by traditional telephone.

The bill, which the White House plans to deliver to Congress next year, would require communication service providers be technically capable of intercepting and decrypting messages, raising serious privacy concerns, the Times said.

The proposal has "huge implications" and poses a test to the "fundamental elements of the Internet revolution," vice president of the Center for Democracy and Technology, James Dempsey, told the Times.

"They basically want to turn back the clock and make Internet services function the way that the telephone system used to function," he was quoted as saying.

Officials contend, however, that without new regulations their ability to prevent attacks could be hindered.

"We’re not talking expanding authority," FBI general counsel Valerie Caproni told the Times. "We’re talking about preserving our ability to execute our existing authority in order to protect the public safety and national security."

Internet and phone networks are already required to have eavesdropping abilities thanks to a 1994 law called the Communications Assistance to Law Enforcement Act, but the mandate does not apply to communication service providers — like Research in Motion, maker of BlackBerry devices.

RIM has recently been working to resolve disputes with India, the United Arab Emirates and other countries to avert threats to ban BlackBerry services. The countries complained that BlackBerry e-mail encryption posed a national-security risk. India postponed a ban for at least two months after RIM agreed to give security officials "lawful access" to data.

"We’ve made it clear that we are respectful of government needs and fully cooperating to comply with lawful requirements on an industry standard basis, but we cannot compromise the security architecture of the BlackBerry enterprise solution," RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie said Thursday, reiterating the company’s previous stance.

Balsillie said RIM "simply has no ability to read the encrypted information and that it has no master key or back door key to allow access."
