Just Two More Business Days For Comments On Kentucky Death Penalty Protocols
On November 25, Kentucky’s Supreme Court ruled that deficiencies in Kentucky’s lethal injection protocols meant that many of the policies and procedures had to be rewritten. The Kentucky Dept. of Corrections subsequently released proposed new protocols for pre-execution medical actions, execution team qualifications, lethal injection, and electrocution.
Many observers have raised concerns about the protocols, and our Affiliate in Kentucky, the Kentucky Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, has posted a list of concerns on their website. Our colleagues in Kentucky asked us to let you know that the public may submit comments concerning the lethal injection protocols until this Monday, February 1, 2010.
Comments are not accepted by email. They must be mailed or faxed in order to be considered by the Department.
Comments can be mailed to:

Or, they may be faxed to (502) 564-6686.
